Whitby is an up and coming seaside Town in Yorkshire Northern England. Split by the river Esk. Lots of walks in the town and around neighbouring towns including the Cleaveland way. There is an abundance of bars and restaurants with quirky cafes and shops for you to try. The train and bus station is only a 5 minute walk from Falcon Retreat.
On the East side overlooking the North Sea The famous ruined gothic Whitby Abbey with 199 steps up hill was Bram Stokers inspiration for “Dracula”. Nearby is the church of St Mary’s. The Captain Cook Memorial Museum, in the house where Cook once lived, displays painting and maps. West of town is West cliff Beach, lined with beach huts. The town hosts a beautiful park named Pannett Park this is a great outdoor space with Museum and gardens. Don’t forget to visit Whitby Lighthouse and get a selfie under the Whalebone Arch.
